AI Artistic Painting — Human–Robot Collaboration
Role — AI Pipeline & Computational Workflow
AI Artistic Painting — Human–Robot Collaboration was a live generative drawing performance presented at the opening ceremony of the 2024 World Design Cities Conference in Shanghai. Keywords extracted from conference speeches became images in architect and artist Jarmo Suominen's visual language, then ordered vector paths for a robotic arm. On stage, Suominen and the robot drew simultaneously across a monumental wall.
I trained the image-generation model and built the end-to-end computational pipeline: fine-tuning a Stable Diffusion LoRA, developing the ComfyUI and Python workflow, converting raster outputs into drawable vectors, and correcting SVG stroke order for efficient robotic motion. I packaged and deployed the resulting data workflow into the Grasshopper control pipeline and remotely tested the venue installation through its final overnight setup.
